The more I learn about photography, the more I realize it is an art. There is an art to making your subject feel comfortable. There is an art to capturing the essence of that person in the picture. There is an art to framing, composing, and taking the picture. And there is an art to editing the final result.
I have always been interested in photography, but it took many years until I decided to pursue my interest. I completed my master's degree in Human Development and Family Studies in 2005. As a gift, my parents gave me my first digital SLR camera. Little did they know that by giving me that gift, they would start my new career.
I have always been fascinated by people, and children in particular. My pictures showcase the personality of my subject. I find it is easiest to take pictures that reflect the true nature of a person when they are comfortable. Kids especially do better in their own house or familiar playplace. I rely primarily on natural light, but do occasionally use a flash. I've come to realize that my ideal method for taking pictures would be to spend an entire "regular" day with the family and capture moments as they come.
I have my own style of portrait photography, but I believe that each client knows the type of picture they like. I work very hard to blend my knowledge of photography and composition with what you want your final potraits to look like. If there is a particular pose or style you are looking for, I will be happy to work with you to provide pictures that you will love for many years to come.
I look forward to working with you!
